Our banana growers are involved in the Reef Alliance Trust which identifies the impact their farming can have on the quality of water into local catchments and the Great Barrier Reef; and implements processes to reduce this impact for a more sustainable future.
A WORD ON WASTE
Food waste is an epidemic in Australia, as with many westernised countries.
At Tenfarms, we work closely with our industry peers, customers and consumers to look at ways to fight food waste. We constantly seek new outlets that enable us to find a home for product we grow.
In fact, we proudly donate hundreds of tonnes of product every year. This provides fresh food to the less fortunate whilst finding a place for product that otherwise wouldn’t have a home.
We also recognise the problem with plastic. Plastic makes up a huge proportion of landfill. Our ultimate goal is to pack our produce in 100% sustainable packaging.
